The mission of the Center is to help people understand that our health, and that of our children, depends on the health of the environment, and that we must do everything we can to protect it.

The Center's Climate, Energy, and Health program helps policymakers, business leaders, and the general public think comprehensively about our meeting energy needs while also safeguarding against the effects of climate change.

The Healthy and Sustainable Food program informs consumers and institutions about how our choices for diet and menus can promote healthier people, more secure food supplies, and thriving communities. 

The Corporate Sustainability and Health program supports corporations across all sectors in measuring and accelerating the ways in which they help the world become a healthier, more sustainable place.

Former Programs

The Center’s Biodiversity and Human Health Program educated policymakers and the public about the importance of preserving biodiversity through the lens of human health.

The Center’s Classroom Education Program deepens the understanding of the critical relationship between the environment and human health for students at the K-12, college and graduate school levels.

This program provided the best science available to policymakers by translating the abstract, technical language of global environmental change into the concrete, personal terms of human health for local and federal leaders and staff.

The Scientists and Evangelicals Initiative brought together leading environmental scientists and evangelical Christians to explore humanity's degradation of the global environment, and to help lessen its impacts.
