Staff Assistant
Heather Foley

As the Staff Assistant at the Center for Health and the Global Environment, Heather provides full-time academic and administrative support to faculty and staff members. Heather is highly-involved with the Healthy Ocean, Healthy Humans Program by distributing our educational short film, Once Upon a Tide to film festivals, aquariums, learning centers & schools. Heather also oversees all of the Center’s everyday activities, which includes coordinating travel arrangements for our faculty members, helping organize special events and media appearances, and managing our database of Center newsletter recipients. 

Heather also works at the Center for Families at Children’s Hospital Boston and volunteers in the Neonatology Department at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Heather has her B.S. in Public Health with a minor in Biology from Simmons College. Before coming to the Center, Heather traveled to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua as a Community Health Worker to create environmental education projects focused on water purification systems, organic gardening and eco-friendly cooking.
